That’s why we have this forum. To try and identify issues, raise them up and try to solve them. @Grin.Fast did just that and raised a really cool idea. I’m with him 100%. Excited to see the awesome work he’s doing.
Yea I agree, but there is barely any support or momentum on that front (God bless those who want to help @grinn, @Chronos, @grindify to name a few). Hopefully a few months/year down the line someone will come across these threads and the community would be more willing then.
Seems like we may have another donation campaign coming up too. We are quiet a small community hence reaching the targets is particularly difficult. Haven’t seen any concrete action on trying to increase awareness to remedy this. Appreciate the team, love the idea but unfortunately can no longer donate to the campaign. Grin has cost me a lot of btc in loses and like some developers, I have Swizz_beatlings of my own to care for. I’ll start donating as soon as Grin nets me a +ve return. Out for now

grin has multiple mobile wallets, vite and ironbelly are just two that are in development.

It is that what I propose in our service. You do not need go with computer to pay in shop and the shop do not need grin server working. In the first period of grow market of grins our service makes use grin easy. After shops and people start use our service ( which hase independen wallets for each user ) and will decide that want start own grin node that simple send grins from our service. But when you today say to standard man - start your grin node - he will say why and for what ? SO is simple say to him that people which want use grine send the grin only when a shop gives them an email or phone number or keybase id. It easy in the first period of creating grin market.

You are right. Increased awareness and honesty about the profitability of grin with potential for price action has to be communicated.

Some polarization of opinions seems evident among the posters on this thread (and forum) vis a vis the communications/PR about Grin. Grinners on both sides of that temporary bifurcation have strongly held views. In principle, this is not necessarily bad IMO as it demonstrates passion for the project. Generally, two heads are better than one, and three heads are obviously better than two heads and so by induction, n heads approach optimum head. But this may require a head wrangler - or some level of organization/structure with respect to this topic. The council recently agreed to a scheme such that in essence, key areas of advancement would be compartmentalized and managed through a pretty structured process. So there is an acknowledgement of sorts that some structure is necessary to get things done, rather than being completely guided by natural selection where whoever shouts the loudest/devises the most acerbic insult moves the project forward. By extension, the trolling and discrediting each other’s opinions in a negative manner is probably unhelpful. Disagree, provoke and stimulate discussion but more progress will be made through reasoned, mature debate with a view to achieving consensus about step-wise decisions/issues as they arise.
The Grin project as it stands, doesn’t have some of the advantages of a (typical) investor-funded project – ready cash, generous guaranteed salaries, connections to potential beneficiaries ”committed financiers with a passion for innovation in the space” and an obscene marketing budget … But it has other advantages that those projects do not have – mostly freedom to pursue quality, equity (in the general sense ;), transparency etc. Speaking from 1st hand experience, it is an understatement to say that it can be an incredibly limiting burden to have investors to whom one must answer. Risk capital invested by people with “skin in the game” changes the dynamics utterly. The project you thought you were doing has a whole other set of parameters, metrics and expectations that determine its trajectory, unless you are a proven unicorn and it’s worth remembering, there is a reason for that epithet… So I say that the advantages of the Grin project approach need to be appreciated, embraced and “leveraged” – that just may take a little more time ツ
