Grin Pool Centralization Over 80%

I consider imporving pool fee, but goblin has prove it didn’t work..

There is no word to say.
They (pool.always.vip) also deleted that (pool.always.vip pool has more than 51% hash. If it is possible, change your pool).
Bad intentions are very clear. Congratulations to you @DQF!. @igno.peverell sure would be proud of you.

It has been proven that raising fee doesn’t work, it just lowers the revenue for miners. What happened two days ago proved once again that miners would rather solo than go to other pools even under huge pressure, which I don’t think some simple-minded people can figure out.

You guys should be able to see why miners come to VIP pool not others, the reasons for this have been stated many times By the Chinese community.

As for the security issue you are talking about, I have also explained many times that VIP pool has more than 4 nodes running at the same time, none of which has more than 30% of network hash rate.

I think one of the most fundamental aspects of decentralization in terms of mining is that miners can choose pools as they wish, instead of listening to the command of opinion leaders.

We don’t need a commander.

Quote one saying from The Chinese community:

自由选择下的一家独大 vs 自上而下计划的三家共和,我觉得前者反而更自由。
One family under self-selection vs three republics planned from the top down, I think the former is rather more liberal.

  1. I am not a commander.
  2. I am not someone who takes a central stance.
  3. Directing miners to the right thing is not central.
  4. It’s also never a command.

According to your stance, it’s okay if all mining pools are closed and you have all the power. After all, we can’t interfere with the natural, right? If we interfere, we become commanders.
If there is an attack on Grin today, let’s not interfere again. After all, people can do whatever they want, right? They are free. If we resist this, we become commanders and become a central force.

Your attitude is completely wrong.
The miners you mention are those who are ignorant of Grin. And you are using this situation for your own benefit. If they had known, they would have already changed their pool. Because while spending thousands of dollars and waiting for mining income, no one would want to make a decentralized cryptocurrency centralized. Miners do this unconsciously.

Also, a defense like we have 4 nodes is pretty pointless. Today, you can turn off 3 node and interfere with all power with 1 node. Not tomorrow, today. So, the grin network should fear you, not the hackers who will attack the pool.

We don’t need to argue with you anymore. Your stance is very clear. You won’t want to lose any miner.
I will fight this situation. I do not accept that the grin network is a central power like you.

Any way of making this visible to everyone? On mining pool stats it shows all nodes as one. Exchanges will soon use this centralisation as an excuse to delist. We won’t get any new big exchanges listing either until it is visibly showing less than 51%
New users will look at this and see it as a problem. It is in your interest and the miners to sort it out.

It is a problem, but not necessarily an immediate security problem. Multiple servers make it a bit harder for a third-party attacker to to run a 51% attack, but it still means that one operator in theory has all the power over mining, which hurts Grin’s decentralization.

I think there is no point in blaming @DQF for anything. As @DQF said:

You guys should be able to see why miners come to VIP pool not others, the reasons for this have been stated many times By the Chinese community.

Unless there is a mechanism that makes miners want to decentralize themselves, the issue is not solved. Asking others to play it nicely does not solve anything, but of course I would appreciate if @DQF also continues to limit miners for the moment, because any real solution takes some time.

True, running multiple nodes and de-incentivizing by increasing the pool fee is the only option any mining pool operator has to reduce risks of a 51% attack.I do think that increasing the pool fee will help somewhat, so it is a pity it was reduced again to 1%

In any case, I do not think we can blame @DQF, we should have a viable alternatives for Chinese miners, which is unfortunately not so simple.

This is not a security concern, more concern is about a possible selfish mining attack.
The emission rate of grin is designed to be as fair as known possible. So ideally pools need to have less than 25% net hash each to mitigate risks associated with selfish mining and unfair block reward distribution.

I wrote an article explaining the issue. I will fight this problem to the end. All I want from the community is to spread this article everywhere. It’s not just our problem, it’s a general problem of exchanges, Ipollo, Nhash, developers, investors and miners.

Grin Network May Destroy Because of Chinese Miners

Because VIP pool makes thing easier for them to sell the rewards, correct? Am I missing something?

The easier part was to support gate.io type transfers right, with a sort of payment proof in the memo?

Good support can make or break a pool, good job.

After the article I wrote yesterday, pool.always.vip has turned off the pool’s APIs. At the moment, it is not seen how many miners and hashrate there are on the pool. Nothing is transparent. In this way, both the people reading the article and the miners on the pool are tried to be deceived.

After now, mining in this pool is nothing but a big mistake. Because they are trying with great effort to become a central power.
Also, most of the miners are in this pool because of Goblinpool was shut down. NOT BECAUSE OF POOL SUCCESS.
If you are looking for success, @xiaojay worked for this community, developed the Niffler wallet and gave his full support to Goblinpool and miners. To avoid decentralization, he increased the pool fee to 2.5% and never touched it. Success is here.
But @DQF you are a disgrace to this community. You can fool people, but you can’t fool me. I know very well what you are trying to do. You will lose according to game theory.

Some people are fake freedom to control mines and speech and kill dissidents. I usually call them the Taliban

your first post and it is sinister. Grin community is friendly and political neutral.

Because I seldom speak. Does your political neutrality include interference in the mine

guy mentioned many times it has 4 nodes Europe,Asia ,Usa,there is no centralization there, you are overreacting. Grin is more decentralized than many POW coins. @DQF is doing his best. Miners can choose whateve they want.

In fact, the things you trust often hurt you the most. Judging from the performance of GRIN community for so many years, I have given up over trusting them
