This is uncomfortable for me because ongoing funding requests become like a form of employment and we end up dealing with someone’s livelihood here. I like everyone here and I certainly don’t like suggesting decisions that would affect their livelihood.
But I cannot agree that this community needs this level of groundskeeping.
If I try to think of something that I could support, as a compromise, that might be like 3 “sessions” per year in January, April, and September each consisting of maybe 3 meetings. So 3 weeks of meetings in January, 3 in April, 3 in September. The idea being that each session of 3 meetings would produce one set of settled decisions.
And fund that at 3k euros/dollars per year in one lump sum.
This sort of administrative overhead is part of the reason I still honestly support just returning the community funds back to the original fund. It would be simpler to run it that way while the community is basically in hibernation mode.
