TMGOX (The Magic Gathering Online Exchange)

UPDATE:
Very asynchronous these days. Shirts other apparel still going out on time. I think our grin payment processor is down working on getting it up ASAP… clearly important that we continue to accept grin.

Books that were paid for all went out, some of the free books for developers have not gone out yet due to world circumstances, may be able to send some out this week, may not be able to send them all until the new year.

If you ordered stickers/pins/other paraphernalia we haven’t been sending them out in a timely manner, lots going out this week.

in the future we may opt to explicitly do shipments every six months. so regardless of when you order, you would have to be patient and two times a year we would ship everyones things out at once. kind of annoying, but also not the biggest deal. will go a very long way to keep our costs down.

if you are waiting on an order currently please DM me or email info at tmgox. Sending extra stickers along to everyone for their patience.

thank you everyone for your support, we will never stop supporting grin development and community. 100% of profit will always go to grin development fund.

as always, if you have good ideas for designs, please let us know so that we can get them produced and into the world!

Hi all,

Have had to turn off payment processors, you may have noticed. Orders were going out for a while, the 30+ Grinoire that were ordered were delivered, but we had issue with our payment processor and in the action of switching to a new one had to step away briefly for personal reasons. In all it has been over six months since a shirt shipped. Working on getting things running smoothly again.

Immensely grateful and proud of the team and community, ashamed I have let my contributions fall behind. I have not been logged on but that does not mean I have checked out, and am still a die hard grinfan. Looking forward to sharing updates with everyone soon. In the mean time we have been hand processing sticker shipments… if you want stickers or pins just DM me or email the TMGOX main account, and they will be sent your way. If you are reading this, you deserve them!

High in my thoughts recently with the incredible froth of a bull market, there is no doubt in my mind that grin will be one of the few left standing when an accounting is done a decade or a lifetime from now. Overjoyed over the part of the future of a free society we are sharing in.

Those look so beautiful, if only I could afford this! :money_mouth_face:

Cool stuf! @0xb100d are they still for sale? I am to poor to afford one right now but I definitely want Ginoire at some point of time.

@0xb100d I am trying to add things to my Cart and getting the following Error

@unknownus3r, if I am not mistaken TMGOX is not active anymore, not selling.
Which is a real pity, I still want to buy a grin clock, a mock, stickers and once I saved up enough a Grinoir.
Also the hat from this the slatepack market is cool, that one is active so you can shop there:

Oh that is too sad :frowning:

I hope that @0xb100d will open shop again some time. I do not know the reason why he shutdown, but alternatively he could also use the Slatepack market as some other ‘merchants’ do like CryptoDrip.

It is a beauty :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes:, I am afraid there will be no reprint, otherwise I would get my greedy hands on a copy of it

Are you talking about physical goods? These hats, t-shirts, panties, scarves, mugs, etc. are all easily produced in China, and I can organize production in China if the grin community needs them.

Where have all the old people gone? There was a promising future at the start. but time goes by and there is no old flame.

I think its because of the price. They sadly probably lost a lot of money with GRIN. Its sad but I understand them completely.

Or they are waiting for the price of grin to tank and buy grin on the cheap.

Never knew this site existed, what fun marketing! I was going to joke about tempting fate by raising the ghost of MTGOX, but that seems redundant now. Unfortunate I never got to pick up some merch, or check out the website.

Then again I never played Satoshi Dice. I never replied to satoshi in Bitcoin Talk, never transferred bank funds to Japan, and never bought weed on Silk Road. I never visited TMGOX.

I guess it’s best simply to say that TMGOX will always be part of the history; a history with records enshrined in Grin’s blockchain. Life just goes on.

Satoshi left Bitcoin and others came. Life just goes on. The old flames burn deep but the new flames bring change. This is true of Bitcoin, and it is true of Grin. Heck, it’s true of everything in Life, and blockchain. Do not ask where did the old people go, ask instead from where will the new ones come. For they will and I am proof. I could tell you my journey to Grin but that’s a different topic ツ

Tell us about your journey. It’s interesting.

A bottle of whiskey would be required and I don’t drink that any more, if I can help it. A wince.

The journey is far too long and harrowing, littered with fist pumps and palmed faces, and the making and losing of fortunes. For a spell I was a columnist in the space (even wrote an article about Grin, and even started a project to save knowledge (websites and digital files) using blockchain as an immutable database for its storage; creating a personal Wayback Machine. Worked with Larry Sanger and other interesting people. Even put a dictionary on a blockchain … and if you have to ask … Incidentally the project needs a bit of help so if you code lemme know. See my bio on X

The fillet of the long journey is that I discovered Bitcoin over a decade ago when MTGOX was operational and perhaps even before McCaleb sold it to that French guy with the frappuccinos. Then it all went to hell.

For those of you who remember those times, for me it felt edgy and anarchic. The greed had already begun to set in, true, but nothing like it is today. We were starting a revolution, or at least that’s how it felt. These days I shudder at what it has all become with bitcoiners courting regulators and dancing with devils. In the hubbub Saylor is heard barking at us to sell a kidney, maybe two …

Perhaps I could overlook it all if I could actually buy a beer with bitcoin, or any other crypto, and Im not talking about those VISA cards either. But sadly Bitcoin is an asset, a commodity, a new gold - Bitcoin is anything but an electronic cash system. Or can Lightning save us? Perhaps, but does anybody even care? Or has that new Solana shitcoin absorbing everybody’s attention?

For me Grin has some of that OG crypto vibe when we were changing the world and feeling good about ourselves for doing it. It was a long time before that was reflected in the price, or by the interest of others in discussing the topic.

Tromp and other oldies are still here, there’s a fortune in BTC split across two bodies, and huge potential … and sheeet, it was 1.99 cents!

The journey continues as just last month (it continues here more quietly by the way) when I was in Malta and met Adam Back and some other bitcoiners. I asked Adam about Mimblewimble and Polestra. I’ll share that in a new post under Technical Discussion soon.

Thanks for the question, after all.
