Let me tell you a story from a friend in the Verus community.
Community investment: 150k$ in funding to facilitate market making between exchanges and to keep the spread of the price within the margins of the exchanges, sounds familiar? It was a good, honest and professional attempt.
The result: Within 1.5 years, traders completely drained the 150k$ fund because they do not need to play by the rules, neither do exchanges. They can simply buy and sell at the extremes. With a cost of 150k$, roughly 10.000$ per exchange/month. All that money was gone in the end enriching exchanges and traders. Since then they let individual market makers rule the market and provide liquidity, a much better decentralized solutions.
Remember, there is always a bigger fish in the sea 
and he will eat you alive if he can, that is how the markets work. On top of that there are additional risks, e.g. an exchange getting hacked, people stealing the money etc. I hope this little story can serve as a warning and prevent Grin as project from making the mistakes made in other projects.

Remember the code of conduct of this forum, stay polite and respectful. Grin is a decentralised project; anyone can start an initiative. I would like to encourage you to put your money where your mouth is. If you believe creating a fund for market making is the way to go, go ahead and create such a fund. Start your own council if you believe in your own vision.

其实我觉得你才是这个社区的搅屎棍，每个开发者提出的倡议，你总有反驳的意思，还有一点，一个开发汽车的创始人，自己的车不开，却相信别人的车安全，凭什么社区持有比特币不持有grin，咱们自己就不相信，现在连矿机生产出来的硬币都没办法流通，作为加密电子现金，作为社区，不要解决流动性吗？
几个开发者都一一走掉了，不是因为社区的原因吗？

@pengliangfui I think you have consider here what liquidity actual is and why there would be low or high liquidity. For example, if no miners sell their grin at a low price (low liquidity), what does it tell you about what the miners think of that price? I am certain that if you would sell your grin at below market prices, you would get insane liquidity since people would instantly buy your grin. If you would buy grin a lot above the market price, you would easily be supplied with liquidity. In other words, the market is self regulating since if your offer for buying or seller is not good enough, you will get fewer trades/liquidity. If the CC or you as individual would use our funds to provide liquidity at a bad price, that directly translate into the community or you as individual losing money while the other party is earning money, they got a good trade while we got a bad one.

我觉得你应该区分本质看问题，代币本来就是有亏有赢零和游戏，不想伤害的话，那为什么还要去做去中心化pow呢，说白了就是奖励，滴答滴答定位本来就是加密货币，流动性起来了，才能吸引更多的人聚集grin出谋划策，才能慢慢慢慢的成长起来

Actually it sound like they suck at market making. You don’t just put it all in one position, lol like I said I can’t pass on years of expert here anymouse, your just gonna have to take my word on it here, I can talk to the plants, and the plants say they need water, not brondo!
What if whales just buy up all the liquidity you put in? You spread it out, but the result is that whales just continue to buy it.
In such a case, why not just do this with your own grin? The CC money could be better spend on funding community projects instead of giving the money to whales, right?
Exactly, just use your own funds.
Also, the market making for Verus was done professionaly, not one position or something simplistic like that. The fact is that if you are bound to rules, e.g. only put buy or sell orders within a certain spread, while other traders can eat up the extremes and manipulate the market, they have an advantage and they can slowly eat up your funds. It is as simple as that.

You spread it out over time. If you can’t increase your portfolio size by providing liquidity as a market maker, you ain’t doin it right boy

A professional market maker who lost money?! Like I said, sound like they suck at their job. You gotta be basically completely financially illiterate to lose money market making. Remember when you thought you could buy 1$ worth of grin for 1 dollar at the last second to make its price 1 dollar? Ya, that kinda financial illiteracy.

Ok, so you are very confident about your skills and ability to make money while facilitating liquidity.
My question to you is, what is stopping you from being a market maker for grin?
You obviously have funds since as highly skilled market maker you make good profits. So uses your funds and skills and be the market maker you are asking for. I do not see why any funds from the community would be needed here? Either you have mad skills and the funds resulting from those skills, or you do not have the skills or funds that would accompany those skills.
This method is tried and tested 
. I did this is real life on Trade Ogre, just for fun. Not exactly one dollar, but I painted a beautiful green candle for around 1 dollar. This was of-course localized, only on one exchange I painted the graph I wanted it was exactly as easy as I described.

In order to make it go up, you have to buy all the orders between its current price and 1 dollar. Lol “tried and tested” lies. It’s not my responsibility to provide liquidity for grin - that would fall in the hands of the cc and oc - that being said, ya why not just make money for myself that’s a good point. Remember I only came to offer the very much needed help you guys need. A bunch of programmers tryna to run a currency, lol good luck so far yall been doing an awful job.
