Niffler, An out-of-the-box open sourced Grin GUI Wallet

try this:

more-》check balance

tried that, I think it is node issue, how can I resync node? doesn’t seem like it is connecting to remote node either…

@xiaojay do you have a contact for me to send you my current issue in more detail? It seems my transaction is not showing even with the node synced completed.

I was able to see the transaction and confirmed yesterday, but not anymore. I tried to re-install and resynced the node.

Thanks,

sent my email from pm.

more --> local node ;
After local node synced completely,
use “Local grin node is preferred when it is synced. Otherwise, use remote node.” option in “local node”'s setting tab.

So I’m just curious, why did you name your awesome wallet Niffler? Also thanks for all that you’re doing to help people out, cheers.

The name of Niffler is followed the harry potter tradition in grin community

Is there no deeper metaphor? I thought about it for a while, and was like, “dude I gotta ask him”.

Is hedwig relay server open source to be ran by anyone? If so, where is the repo located?

Hedwig relay server is not fully open sourced right now for some security reason.
you cloud checkout the old and original version https://github.com/xiaojay/socket-tunnel
It will be fully open sourced in the future.

Man thank you for this great wallet. This one is far more faster, and easier to use than others.
All went fast and ok.

One thing I can not find, my seed in the app.
I wrote it down on piece of paper, and now I want to check once again before reinstall of OS my seed is it correct, just to be sure, but I can not find the option.

Looking foward to mobile version, thanks a bunch for this app.

No checking option for this version of Niffler, sorry. Maybe add it on next versoion.
The easy way to check seeds is install Niffler on another computer, and try the restore option.

Niffler is running great! I love it.

Quick question, if I wanted to back up my wallet onto an external drive, which files would I backup? I did a ctrl+f on this thread but didn’t see anything. Thanks again.

I’m using macos

~/.grin/main/wallet_data is the directory where store wallet data.

Hi, I’m still having trouble finding wallet_data on my mac. I used finder to search for ‘grin’ ‘.grin’ ‘main’ and ‘wallet_data’, but still couldn’t find it. Is this file hidden or something? Not indexed? Sorry, I’m just not very great with computer basics. On a side note, I think a ‘backup wallet’ feature would be neat to have in niffler.

open a terminal app.
type following command:

cd ~/.grin/main

ls

will show “wallet_data” dir.

sorry, I don’t know how to do it use gui tools

Via GUI:
Open Finder
Shift+Apple+G (or open Go from main menu and choose “Go to Folder…”)
Dialog will pop up - Type ~/.grin/main
Hit GO
