My Struggle With Grin

All you gotta say is “how much higher would grins price be if the cc had grin instead of btc?”

Then that is how much they have taken away from grin.

The mental gymnastics demonstrated by the cc here to refute this very obvious truth is quite impressive.

If someone donates grin to the cc they sell it for btc. Driving down the price of Grin! Forshame!

So the cc can say it’s not their responsibly to drive grin’s price up but they sure as hell have taken it as their responsibility to drive it down! Turning every grin donation into another opportunity to dump on grin’s price.

Here’s an idea I know it might sound crazy but maybe the cc should hold the crypto they supposedly are a group of, rather than a currency of a completely unrelated project. Its seems like they are using grin to harvest as much btc as they can get their little grubby fingers on at the expensive of grin’s value!

Like a said, it’s scammy.

You can call yourselves the “grin cc” but remember this: Money is power and Grin is money so if you don’t hold grin you have no power here!!!

Yes, grin created to take BTC from you.
And now you realise this.

I don’t even believe that there is so much grin in the income from donations. Not many people donate Grin, but the market has sold tens of millions of Grin.
as a result , it is not true that CC sell grin for btc,Driving down the price of Grin.Prices are the result of a free market

Do you understand that everyone knew about the hyperinflation in the early years? This is why they held the funds in BTC, so the money wouldn’t hyperinflate to nothing.

It would be irresponsible if the council swapped it to Grin right now because we need this money to last the entire time through these inflationary years. And it’s looking like as BTC appreciates, our runway gets longer, which is a good thing when you look at the grinflation time chart.

You can call me names or whatever you want to do, but the entire council remains very open to discussion of ideas. Like if you have some concrete ideas about transferring some BTC to Grin (when, how much, what to do with it), I’m interested. We can weigh the pros and cons in a calm and sensible manner.

So far, you’ve just been vague and aggressive.

So what are the early investors in this coin supposed to do?

Why do we even bother listing the coin on exchanges then?

If you are a miner who will buy your coin then without us? Are we all test specimens for miners?

And indeed I do think that changing all BTC fund to GRIN shows a great responsibility in the direction of the project and and it will lift the spirit of the community.

However at the same time you are right @trab changing it into GRIN we will lose everything…

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Although price may deviates its actual value of the Grin project, but it at least reflects people’s overall view of the current value of Grin. You, as the core developer and CC does not believe its intrinsic value, who will?

I think it’s a good time to build a Grin fund, starting by taking out 1BTC to buy Grin.

However, it’s a challenge to manage Grin coins securely as there is no multi-signature feature yet.

If we would not believe in Grin, we would not be here spending so much of our free time on the project.
On a personal note, I am increasingly accumulating grin, but for the council to invest in Grin, we would indeed need multisig support in Grin.

It does make sense for there to be a Grin fund. I would support it but as said, we’d need multisig which is a clear priority to me.

Actually USE the coin as a means of exchange (I know, crazy idea). As I understand the original intent, we’re meant to use the donation to improve the UX of using Grin as a real means of exchange, which increases adoption, and also keeps the price up.

Not just multisig, but also tools to make the council less important (tools to make things like a crowdfunding platform).

Yes, I just used it to mean “really high inflation”, not that it is inflating more and more over time. Good clarification.

To clarify, it is not invest but hold.

Just buy Grin on the cheap and wait bro. The market cap is 3.5mil. Elite tier investment from 2025 to 2030+

And you will die and nothing will be with grin because of the bad user experience in grin.

So, sell your grin and go to another coin. Nobody forces to you buy grin. Why keeping the pain in your heart?

I hope yall know I love everyone in the grin community. If you’re grinning you’re winning. To be fair, every single members of the cc, as individuals, have, and do, contribute in major ways to the GRIN project. My gripe is against only this cc entity, not the individuals who encompass it.

As a member here mentioned, I think it may be advisable to start, maybe very slowly at first, to move btc to grin - even without multi sig, you could decentralize the fund itself, having individual be stewards over the grin as it’s converted from btc.(so instead of passing on the keys to new members. You pass on wallets. Multi wallets instead of multi sig.) Another option would be to slap together a quick and dirty wallet level multisig so it splits up and spits out the seed phrase in to individual “keys”. Or of course ideally would be to implement a proper multisig.
