Or start listing bounties in grin as well. One way to decentralize the fund is to pay out in Grin.
Not sure who would want it, but maybe for smaller bounties like community activism, outreach type stuff etc

Let me make it clear for you: The seven or so members of the cc holds btc at the expense of the rest of the grin community!!! Literally at the cost of thousands of people’s money! (Ironically, even the cc member’s own individual grin holdings suffer from the actions of the cc group which they themselves embody!)
Pretty sure the cc holds more in btc than the entire market cap of grin! Disgusting

@syntaxjak If you do not trust in Grin but do trust BTC, you can sell your grin and buy bitcoin. Decentralisation of a project also means that if you want to pump the price you are free to do it, or not, I will leave it up to you

For how long? The reason we’re meant to use the BTC to improve UX is to increase adoption. Real adoption (not just pumping price for short time) is what makes price go up and stay up

So a pump n dump is what you want. The funds were donated specifically for development, not making you feel better about being a rude, salty bagholder. You’re being EXTREMELY selfish and nearsighted on this, and I think it would doom the project if we ever started manipulating the price. This ain’t SHIB, and for the long term health of Grin it’s a frankly stupid idea to even consider buys.

As a miner that holds, if I had my wish, Tari would fall below 1¢/XTM and stay there for years (new PoW project that will implement Grin/Tromp’s c29 aglo). Bitcoin traded as low as 1¢ too ya know. Obviously, I have zero complaints for Grin since it’s within my target range for maximum accumulation (99 active Grin ASICs here, so I want more coins/day, not less). I don’t want crypto to moon to $100T market cap right away, I’m still accumulating, and surely I’m not the only one who wants more exposure to this emerging asset class. Disclosure: I’m a collector of assets and a long term investor. Using Grin’s bitcoin treasury to pump Grin would be counterproductive, from my perspective.

@Neo-Geo “Grins bitcoin treasury” umm, what? The entire cc could disband and all the btc could be lost and it wouldn’t have a single ounce of impact on grin coin. If anything, the core and cc, systematically selling down grin for exchange of another crypto projects currency is one of the leading factors to Grin coins poor adoption. Price is everything. You don’t need a btc treasury to pay people, how garish, you need a killer asset at a good value and the developers will come pouring in.
As for accumulating sure but what about everyone who bought in above us? Those who got wrecked by grin over the last 6 years? Just fuck em more grin for us? Cool

@natsu They are doing this and have been for the entire existence of grin coin actually, in fact, the core and cc don’t even have a way to hold grin, cuz they need multi sig. So they in fact do sell all grin they get, remember at one point, I think a % of mined grin from pools etc was going to this core group. They been doing this for years! How do you think they got so much btc? Magic! No it’s been off the backs of grinners!!!
They are morally obligated to return that money back to the community, the fairest way to do that is simply by exchanging it for grin, but of course they refuse, they didn’t spend all this time leeching grins value just to give back their hard earned loot.
