No Shares Accepted for mean rtx 31 on 1080ti

Hi guys,

I am trying out different plugins here. For some reason the mean gtx 31 is out of memory for my 1080ti. But it works if I change to mean rtx 31.

Everything is running good on the miner side but I observe there’s no shared accepted even after a long period of time.

Does anyone encounter similar issue?

You should try the GTX version. “cuckatoo_mean_cuda_rtx_31” is for 2080Ti(rtx for Nvidia RTX).

I tried that at first as well, but for some reason it’s out of memory on my 1080ti. :frowning:

I saw something similar with an old Titan X. I suspect the plugin is failing silently, finding no solution and reporting a higher than expected GPS. Is your GPS achieved with a single GPU? Mine was 0.6 with one card, which seemed high.

Are you driving a display by any chance? You can check with ‘nvidia-smi’

It cannot possibly work. The rtx version requires 64 KB of shared memory, which the 1080 Ti cannot provide.

Ideally you can find the cause of the reduced memory availability of your 1080Ti, and find a remedy. If not, then as a last resort you can manually edit the file grin-miner/cuckoo-miner/src/cuckoo_sys/plugins/CMakeLists.txt to change the cuckatoo_mean_cuda_gtx_31 target to use the smaller memory settings

-DNEPS_A=128 -DNEPS_B=80

of the cuckatoo_mean_cuda_rtx_31 target.

Hi there, isn’t it better to go with chuckoo29 with 1080ti? The difference in the graphs with ck29 and ck31+ is huge. So would take longer to find a block and solve it. Right?

Im running smOS and have the have the same error when running “Mean 31 GTX”.

Driver version is: NVIDIA-SMI 415.13 Driver Version: 415.13 CUDA Version: 10.0

The miner is compiled by smOS so i dont have access to the "grin-miner/cuckoo-miner/src/cuckoo_sys/plugins/CMakeLists.txt ".

edit: the cpu is getting an upgrade.

For some reason disconnecting the HDMI from the onboard GPU does the trick. But now im stuck, because i get broken pipes errors and mining 0gps.

Correction: error still remains. Out of memory didn’t show because the US grinpool stoped testnet mining.

I still get the “out of memory error” on the EU pool here: https://grin-pool.org
