Installed fine; showing balance of 0 ツ initially but ran Check Balance and correct balance restored so all good - thanks for the update @xiaojay

yes, first run Niffler v0.5.0 need a scan grin blockchain from a remote node, which will take 10-30minutes.
If it failed because of network issue, you could login and do a “check balance” manually, which is:
upright corner “more” --> “check balance”.
And if you want to run grin node process background, which mean you could always fully sync grin blockchain on your local computer, you should manually checkout “running grin node background when Niffler is closed.” option, which is: upright corner “more” --> “local grin node” -> “settings”.
btw: checkout this option will cause a conflict with grin++ wallet, because it cannot be run two grin process on a computer.

Hello, Niffler v0.5.1-preview Mac version is available:
In this version, Niffler support send/receive grin via Tor network.
To enable Tor, user should install Tor first. On Mac, it takes two steps:
- install homebrew
open terminal, type this.
/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
- install tor
brew install tor
Grin via tor is fun, Enjoy

Having problem with withdrawal from Poloniex to Niffler Wallet with Hedwig.
Getting error when check balance:
Wallet command failed: LibWallet Error: Client Callback Error: Getting chain height from node: Request error: Cannot make request: an error occurred trying to connect: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it. (os error 10061)
Please help can’t see my balance
the problem is because Niffler can not connect a grin node.
Do you change the node settings?
upload or send me the screenshot of your node seetings

Use the default settings and check balance again.

Hello to everyone here… I have serious problems with niffler wallet. After a format on my pc i reinstalled niffler. I restore my wallet with my passphrase.
Issue no1: I create my new passwd and couldnt log in. I get the error “could not start grin api. Maybe wrong passwd.” I reboot my computer and then logged in succesfully.
Issue no2: Niffler wallet seems to be stucked around 10 minutes on “updating status from grin node”. After that, I see 0 balance and my transaction history dissapeared.
I use the same operating system like before. I use fedora 32.
I tried to open niffler from terminal and I receive the same errors everytime.
The wallet opened and I see the same thing. 0 balance and my transaction history is dissapeared.
I check my local grin node status and its not running. 0 peers connected etc…
Whats really going on? And why I receive errors this time? My linux os was and is up to date…

I also have a problem. Wallet shows zero balance, no transaction history or Unspent Amounts. When I run a Check Balance I get this:

And thats the last message I get when I check the balance… Still waiting loooong time until get in my wallet…

it is the issue of networking.
your wallet connect my remote grin node and timeout
so maybe try it again.
The alternate way is wait for your local node fully synced, then “check balance” again.
you cloud check your local node status like this:
Rightup coner --> more --> local node

I ran the local node and able to see the balance and the outputs now, but something seems wrong with the local node: Its still say syncing and I am stuck on that height for hours. Is this normal?
if the log is normal, then it is ok.
Just wait for it, 30mins - several hours

Something crazy happens with the passwd also. The passwd is correct and cant log in. After 3 efforts i logged in…
I see 0 balance and no transaction history. I still get errors on connections. I checked my firewall rules and everything is ok. I ll be patient until wallet get back. My local grin node says “not running” in niffler…
Impossible to restore though… I hope a new version or somehow fix the problem.
p.s: How to restart local grin node? I dont see any option

Same thing here about the password! Sometimes I cant log in for 5-6 times. And I know my password!

I had a similar experience with Grin++ (@david ), some weird error when I tried to login with the correct password. Now that is really weird since it hits two wallet software’s. Must be network related I guess.
Currently waiting for peers to resync with no visible progress.
