Help me to help you support Grin!

[(Read with Radio Ad voice)]

  • Do you think Grin is the future?
  • Are you tired of not having enough tech skills (or twitter followers) to help Grin grow?
  • Are you broke like me and everyone else but Elon Musk and the plants based meat eating elites?
  • Do you want to support Grin?

Say no more! Help me to help you support Grin!

Look, transactions only go through the public nodes before being broadcasted to the network. Besides, the chain has to be downloaded from somewhere, and you don’t want to wait too long to make use of your sweet yellow balance, do you?

We all know that most people just talk and do nothing, and those who only talk love to tell us what to do, without even doing anything. But today, I have the solution for them! I will open, maintain and configure a public Grin node on your behalf for free! Really? Yes! Really! For free!

With the technology of internet coupons developed by the best scientists :scientist: in the world, people can now afford things that they usually can’t! And we have the best scientist! For only $37 you can help deploy a Grin public Node for a whole year.

Don’t call 1-800-GRIN because that line does not exist, don’t be fooled, instead send your donation to the next address or share your slatepack via DM.

Only $37 and you will be not a sayer anymore but a doer! $37 to the address above and let me help you help Grin!

Yes, I’m an only partially joking, the proposal is true. The instances will be deployed with these specifications:

  • 2x vCPU Cores
  • 55 GB Pure SSD Storage
  • 3.5 GB RAM
  • 6000GB Monthly Bandwidth
  • 1Gbps Public Network Port

Coupon found is from RackNerd and locations available are the follow:

  • Dallas.
  • Chicago.
  • Amsterdam.
  • San Jose, California.
  • Ashburn.
  • Atlanta.
  • New York.

I’ll deploy the node, and share the IP address and the proof.

Thank you!

Deployed 2 new nodes already! One due to @Mokhtar donation and another one from a unknown donation of 300 ツ

➜ ~ nc -vvv 23.94.105.33 3414
Connection to 23.94.105.33 port 3414 [tcp/wip-port] succeeded!
➜ ~ nc -vvv 23.94.120.30 3414
Connection to 23.94.120.30 port 3414 [tcp/wip-port] succeeded!

Someone sent 39 ツ maybe it’s trolling, good trolling btw  but, but… the correct amount is $37 USD worth in grin. Example, donations of 256 ツ and/or 300 ツ works.

Is there a guide to setting up a node yourself? I’ve mostly been helping by mining but would like to setup a node too.

I want to thank those who have supported the initiative. We were able to deploy 20 new nodes in Dallas, Chicago, Amsterdam, San Jose (CA), Ashburn, Atlanta and New York. Another great news, is that thanks to a combined effort of myself and another person, together we covered another year of subscription for all instances. Instances are now secured for 2 years instead of 1 year.

Moving forward.

20 new instances is far more than the amount of support I was expecting. I won’t deploying more instances. I will find a way to list the nodes somewhere, their actual height and the amount of network traffic consumed from them. Let’s see what impact these 20 nodes have.

If anyone wants to deploy a new node using the same prices, please let me know I will send the link via DM. The reason I am not posting the link here is because I want to prevent bots from scraping and linking this post.

Installation Parties

I see in the future community members gathering together to drink beers, coffee and/tea, and to deploy public nodes. It’s a cheap way to talk about Grin and do something productive and help the network.

I strongly encourage everyone to deploy public nodes everywhere in the world.

Thank you.

It would be interesting to see how many people here run Umbrel.
I would start a Grin node as an app on Umbrel, unless it’s exclusively a Bitcoin platform…

I have said that I will not deploy more nodes, there are already too many to manage, but I will make an exception for you because you have already sent the donation.

23.94.220.240.

Deployed! thanks!

This is truly amazing. I have an account of the same service for years to do VPN. I can deploy one Grin node on that service too.
