Hi everyone. Im new to grin mining. I seem to be having issues with my miner. It will mine for a bit and than all activities will stop. And need to rest. Pleade help.
I’m going to assume your issue is with an iPollo ASIC. Be sure it’s not overheating, verify all fans are operational and pushing air in the same direction. Consider reapplying thermal paste to the heatsink (remove old paste, clean with rubbing alcohol, power blow surfaces, apply thin layer of new). You can flash the firmware by microSD card to the latest version G2.54. Swapping a failing PSU with a functional PSU, preferably 20A or better (this solution being best). And finally, if none of the aforementioned works, you can change the control board.
Yes, your right, its the G1 mini. Ok ill try you advise. Thank you.
I second what he said about the SD card firmware. 99% of the time flashing it with SD V2.54 clears out whatever troubles.
Do u know where i can find the firmware. It was mining then . After a bit it stops Processing: 1000008958.jpg…
Mining also got this issue. Still new with this machine and its 2nd hand.
See the link posted before for the firmware
I could say the G1 mini chip is hard to be dead. Just try to change the power adapter.
Yes, good thinking, swapping a failing PSU can sometimes resolve when a mini isn’t mining. Going to revise my post to include this method too, to be comprehensive.
Hey. So finally its working properly and
i can see my hashrate. Before the socket was blocked. Now everything is running smooth. Found 2 blocks in 2 days. Before it crapped out. Thanks for your help and support.
So, i did all the updates. I think i cheered to fast. It will work for 10 mins then juat stop mining. Takes multiple power ups and power downs to get it to rest. Annoying. Lol. Any idea. Neo
I did buy the one of aliexpress. We will try cheap way first. And if that fails control board is next. I opened it up. It was dirty. I bought it 2nd hand. I got screwed.
As far as troubleshooting, have you only updated firmware so far, and did you install v2.54 by microSD card (not via Ethernet)? Next would be to try what you haven’t tried, from the potential solutions we’ve provided.
my miner is as dirty as shiiiit and it’s still working. if the board is not stable, there are 2 chances. 1 is overheat, 2 is the power adapter is malfunctioned. It’s really rare that control board is having issue.
Hey. Thanks for your assistance. I did go and by a control board anyways. Paid a couple hundred. If that fails then power supply. If its just the power supply. At least ill have an extra board. Lol thanks again. And i bought a new G1 miner as well. My house is insane with home miners. I have about 16 machines. Lol. All different algorithms.
I could have sold you a control board for under $100 lol. If you do buy a power supply consider purchasing one from me. I sell Mean Well industrial PSUs for Grin mining and have one in stock. I guarantee it’ll cost less than the $100 Ipollo brick or gambling on a random power brick that might fail.
Hey again. So now i have an issues that both miners shut down. After every block it finds, it seems. Thwy both work for about 8 hrs. Than both will abruptly juat stop. Then i get error message
Please assit me guys. I belive its probably my modem. But im not very good with modems and there configurations. Thanks in advance!!
I also have a G1 Mini that I have had mining for a little over a month on the easygrin pool. I was having the occasional offline notification and every time power cycling it would bring it back up. However about a week ago it went offline and I haven’t been able to get it back. Tried several things and noticed the 2 screens in your first 2 pics said the same thing on mine. Did a factory reset and still no luck. Well I got to messing with it again earlier and discovered after resetting it the 3rd time it went online with the default ipollo pool settings. So I just tried setting up on a different pool other than easygrin.org and so far it has connected fine and appears to be working like normal. So it appears the issue is with easygrin.org pool.
Has anyone else noticed this issue?
Have you flashed them with the SDCARD-v2.54 firmware? If yes, then it’s likely the PSUs going bad. Those 180W bricks are pretty shit, I use and build/sell Mean Well industrial PSUs if you end up replacing them. You can power 2 miners off of one and depending on where you live, are cheaper than replacement bricks.
It has been flashed. It’s a bran new brick. I have 2 other grin miners that work fine. Just this one is giving problems.
let us mine to guard the grin net ,then grin blockchain will never be abandon
