Grin Logos for Community Consideration

Hello, new here. I am a designer from Amsterdam. I just received my Grin stickers in the mail and I am just curious to know who designed the Grin face etc… Amazing to see that it was a community effort. The designs in their totality really are on point and have the perfect spirit for such a great project. Congrats to you all. I am your #1 fan

literally scroll up the comments in this thread and find the evolution of the design & who made it.

I think he meant that he was curious to find out who made it, thus he ended up here where he saw “that it was a community effort.”

@elevan These are cool, they remind me of the stereonets we used in structural geology. I like stereonets.

@a3machine Yes! I agree, it’s such a perfect fit! The logo is the reason why I started going down the grin rabbit hole to begin with. Seems like a lot of magic going on here, and more than just the Harry Potter lore

Cheers bud!

Cheers. I love playing around with these and I also have a couple more ideas. It´s the least I can bring to this community (besides valuable trash talk) as a “visual coder”. Hopefully I will find some free minutes soon.

Hello,

Can someone please help me find a vector version of grin’s awesome logo? Thanks.

Thank you for your time. Cheers.

Hi! As You option friendly of female smiles? Why the female form, because money is the financial energy that materializes the structures created by the mind. On the lips can be placed M - upper lip, W - lower lip. Rumor has it that GRIN is the future - a Global … Invisible Network (GRIN). Many believe that GRIN will be an ideal financial system for artificial intelligence to enter the real world. variant

I collected the assets from this thread that I think are widely recognizable as Mimblewimble/Grin and aren’t too low in quality here: https://github.com/beardofmerlin/grin-assets.

If you have higher quality versions of the current ones (ideally vectorized) or have any good assets that aren’t in that list, feel free to make a pull request or share them in this thread so that I can eventually add them.

The Grin logo keeps bugging me, and so this is my attempt to distill the logo down to its essentials. Also, I like playing with Photoshop and watching people lose their minds in comment threads

Oh neat!

You guys are revisiting the logo!

Cheers, and like always, you have my financial support–I continue to DCA into this project to keep it afloat (as much as my contribution makes a difference that is, ha).

I like this image. Simplicity wins.

One thing I’ve never understood with GRIN is the odd allegiance to the “MW” letters. Yes, we get it. Grin is a Mimblewimble implementation. If you know about GRIN, you know this. If you do not know about GRIN, you see “MW” and wonder why it’s there. This leads to either (a) confusion, or worse, (b) to a long, convoluted story about a witch’s spell and privacy in a cryptocurrency. This undoubtedly would hardly clear things up to the rookie who asked.

The takeaway…it’s okay to show Grin without having “MW” in the image (and frankly, it avoids confusion).

I think it actually is also cool for those who do not know. I once made a wall drawing of this logo. I honestly made a competition in my family app of the meaning of this logo. They actually won some Grin with that! The MW was indeed a hard one for those family members who had zero cryptocurrency experience. I had to process submissions as ‘Mining Works or Maaike’s Weelde’ (ref. in Dutch to my girls wealth ;). Eventually with some guiding they figured out mimblewimble but where still stuck in the Harry Potter thinking. Eventually they found it on google by searching something like MW and privacy currency.

This resulted in a nice conversation about the meaning and demand for privacy solutions and what Mimblewimble means in that. Which makes me think a riddle can sometimes be good to get someones attention.

Well that was my piece of lore for today
