Grin Community Fork

Looking to excape the authoritarian, self-appointed, pseudo-government known as the OC/CC/GGC?

Sorry, I can not miss this meme

I think Grin is Monarchy, direct hierarchy lead by God.

I don’t think Grin has an official organization. If you gather more Griners, your impact on the project could be greater than that of the GGC/OC.

@syntaxjak why don’t you direct your passion into making cool things for the Grin system like apps, viral content, etc

Complaining and hoping people follow your wishes will result in nothing.

Making cool things you say? For grin you say? What could be cooler than the group I created which is free of unelected, appointed, authoritarian dictators? That’s a pretty cool creation for grin if you ask me. Freedom is a passion of mine.

The funding of these self appointed leaders likely came from Epstein and his cronies. The faster we move past them, the better. They’re hands are dirty and so is their btc fund. You can tell by their actions, they’ve done their best to suppress grins publicity since their inception. Gate keeping this project, refusing to pay for integration into other wallets, refusing to pay for adoption listing on exchanges and refusing to pay for any promotional content.

As for viral content, that takes inspiration(and funding), I can’t think of anything less inspiring than a group infiltrated by paid Epstein shills.

All appointed governance members need to disband immediately! Start to work as a team of individual community members who are a part of a singular goal rather than “governance members” who believe they have authority over not only the direction of this project, but also over the individuals involved in it.

Either everyone is a governance member, or no one is!

The donated btc funds should be distributed evenly between all active participants in the grin community. Which would cause grins value to skyrocket as the community members would likely spend their share on grin. Not only increasing grins value, but also the wealth of its holders.

These actions would empower the entire grin ecosystem rather than just a few of its members having all the power and funds to themselves.

Why don’t you just join the council yourself? You can be normal and reasonable when you want to be. You just mostly choose not to be for the lolz.

@trab any community members who wants should be able to join the council, all members should be council members by default. What grin doesn’t need is more parasitic elitism. Some of us turned to Grin to avoid this very thing.

pretty sure viral content, almost by its definition, does not require funding. I can understand your frustration with Grin price, but if, say, Grin starts pumping … you would be more satisfied?

Almost all viral content you see online is paid for by pedos and cannibals (reddit, twitter, etc). The fact that grin has none is a sign of its purity

But if we do start to go viral I take back what I said, actually the opposite is true.

They can btw. The council is really just made up of people that have publicly said “I volunteer my time”. I feel bad because I haven’t been good about volunteering my time lately. I could back out and open up a spot for someone else. I sort of already have iirc.

They basically are. Believe it or not, your voice here is taken into account when decisions are made (which is rare tbh).

The council really only exists to steward a lump of donation money. You can imagine them as one really rich guy. Beyond having some money, they aren’t very important. It’s much more “elite” to actually manage the github repo.

@gig frustrated with grin price? Are we looking at the same charts? Lol grin is basically printing money if you know how to lay down a grid.

@trab I appreciate your thoughtful replies and encouragement. This is in the rants and flames section for a reason. In reality I have no ill will to any grinners, and actually am huge fan of each and every member of the governance council. Each person is doing amazing things for grin. This truth however is overshadowed by the groups hierarchical structure, which I not only adamantly reject, but also feel is just uncool in general. Like really, a governance council? How bout no.

yes I know of the councils role as “stewards” of the donated funds, that’s why part of my fool proof plan would be to disperse the funds in their entirety between all active community members.

I actually fully understand this perspective btw. I can see how it could come across like Jack Dorsey and the NOSTR protocol. Like yes, it’s fully open and free, yet somehow Jack is the king of Nostr lol. Because he’s the one putting money into things etc.

Similar to there, a lot of the coolest stuff just pops up from random people that nobody ever knew existed, innovation isn’t usually coming from Jack’s money. But still, the presence of that money can be super useful in certain situations. Like paying bug bounties or something idk

it goes to nowhere to fork…

@syntaxjak Soooo…. are you going to fork Grin by yourself or just wait around, do nothing, and expect someone else to do it for you?

@Jacob.Bekenstein the idea is that It’s a fork of the community, not the coin itself.

what do you mean by “lay down a grid”?

@gig Google: “grid trading”
