CPU mining, grin-miner gps figures for compat/avx2 & lean/mean plugins

just wanted to start a topic regarding CPU mining gps figures since the official wiki has stats only for gpu.

it would be interesting to see how the multi-core cpus like AMD’s threadripper are performing on both c31/c29 with avx2 plugins.

gps figures from Intel® Pentium® CPU G4400 @ 3.30GHz

  • cuckaroo_cpu_compat_29 ~ 0.1130 gps (consumes 4GB system memory)
  • cuckatoo_mean_cpu_compat_31 ~ 0.0321 gps (consumes 13GB system memory)

Ubuntu Server 18.04.1 LTS VM - VirtualBox

  • grin-miner
  • plugin_name = “cuckaroo_cpu_avx2_29”
  • 8GB memory
  • nthreads: 4

Result: ~0.19 GPS (65-70 °C & ~50W)
