Following the advice from the Grin council to work on this ourselves. I think we collectively as a community work on multiple avenues towards increasing Grin awareness and adoption
Started to create some videos aimed at explaining Grin, it’s history, etc but think this would be done best as a community. I’ve got a lot of ideas and and looking forward to even more bright ideas from this vibrant community. In the meantime, I’ll continue to work on it, but you can expect it to be shown here before anywhere else
Although listing is important and does play a role at increasing awareness, I feel it might be a bit too early and maybe we should work on making sure that information about grin is readily available and presented in an easy and interesting manner prior. This is only my opinion and what matters even way more is what approach the community will like to take in regards to this
It’s all a bit chaotic at the moment but lets work together to get a marketing subdivison and adding some structure to make sense of this process and tackle it more efficiently.
Some members of the community have already started making ‘noise’ and spreading the word of Grin via Twitter/various social channels. Keep up the good work
P.S If anyone would like to take part in the video discussions/audio making for videos/posters/etc please don’t hesitate to let us know.
Also, to add. Anyone can list on the Binance DEX. The premise being that Binance will convert popular tokens issued on their DEX over to their main exchange. There are a few examples of this already.
What is the name of your channel? Interesting topics for videos, there is still not a lot of information content about grin apart from the GitHub. Have to mention that the devs did do some great podcasts/interview appearances.
I totally agree. As of yet, a marketing youtube channel has not been created. It’s actually a good thing. In due course, the community will be asked what names they would like to put forward, after which a ballot will be held and the one with the highest vote will be adopted.
Your also right that not a lot of content (Videos/audios/Q&As/Casting,etc) exists at present. It’s actually a good thing because we (the community) have an empty canvas that we can work upon and paint the ultimate masterpiece that satisfies the high standards this project and community deserves. The dev/interviews and pod casts are certainly a great start. As soon as the github repository is up, everyone will be able to add an agenda and take part. Looking forward to hear your ideas.
It would be very helpful if a core dev / technical contributor to GRIN applied & publicly showed support for helping Binance to get GRIN added (like tweeting right after applying). CZ has said before they need a core technical member of the project to apply / serve as a contact in case they have questions with integrating GRIN / how to do the wallet, etc.
We should share the best possible info for the Binance application questions so everyone in the community can apply & show how much demand there is.
Definately two valid points - some discussion happened earlier today on the thread titled “How to increase Grin adoption”.
Regarding the binance application, you’ve raised some fair points but my worry is that should a core developer apply for listing then it could affect the decentralized processes in place. Another alternative that would solve this is to first raise this with the community, get it approved by the community and then start the process of application for listing. This solves the potential conflict and ensures continued decentralization.
As for the ledger support, a lot of the community members have raised this and like it a lot. It has included in a draft proposal regarding the Grin marketing team.
Please let us know if you have other cool ideas. Thanks
Ledger support as I understand it is a full time job, it’s not just an application process. Monero has been working on it for years now and it still is not official.
This is tip 10 of CZ’s listing tips: Tip 10: Don’t shill coins to me on Twitter/social media/chat, it doesn’t help. Instead, you should shill to the project teams to provide regular status updates through the Binance listing application form. A steady stream of updates (say weekly) will help with the evaluation process.
But Binance is already aware of Grin, they made donations to Knockturn-Alee, Ironbelly and Grinswap.
The Grin Council/ core team already said they won’t make any listing requests. I don’t see why they should do it for Binance while they didn’t do it for Bittrex, Poloniex, and all the other exchanges.
