Pun intended, I mean with your name ?
I do not think it is ignored. It is however a very difficult topic to tackle since miners make these decisions themselves. Maybe we should discuss again if we as community can do anything about it.
Some things that have been done:
-
It was discussed in the Grin CC meeting of 26th of October
https://github.com/grincc/agenda/blob/9fe108d84357af8bf86c1592089249373a9826d4/notes/26-10-2021-community-meeting-notes.md
Not much we can do since Chinese miners want a pool that can directly interact with Gate.io. Most Chinese miners do not want the extra effort of withdrawing to their own wallet and sending it to an exchange, in this case Gate.io which has their own unique implementation for depositing funds with a memo… -
Translate grinmint to Chinese. Still has little effect since miners still need to take that one extra step Pool > wallet > exchange (gate.io)
-
Always VIP runs two servers, which somewhat reduce centralization/change to be attacked.
-
Someone started the GEEA pool which already took 5% share, great going whoever this is

But you are right it does not change the fact that mining centralization poses a risk. Any suggestions on how to solve it are welcome.
