The real story: a company called Layer One, hired developers to create grin coin. Layer one was funded in part by Jeffery Epstein.
Good initiative. Well done.

Layer one was not funded by Epstein…he thought it might be a ponzi sheme

The arguments in the article from Epstein regarding why he did not want to invest in Layer 1 or Grin do not make much sence to me. E.g. fear of miner centralization - while Grin had a very balanced multi phase approach to mining to slowly move from GPU to ASIC mining. Even today, high end GPU mining om Grin is attractive.
Also he feared price manipulation -Grin had the fairest launch among all crypto projects to my knowledge.
