I hope there would be a version for new M4 or M5 to mine some testnet. I just tested GitHub - mimblewimble/grin-miner: Standalone miner for grin · GitHub with my M4 Studio but only got 0.01 G/s :smiley:

So, the miner made by @anexus doesn’t work on M4? I had the impression that it should work on all kind of Apple Silicone devices, just better tuned for M1.

@bruges

I should have warned about that: It will only work on Mac’s Ultra tier systems. It uses almost all 120GB of its fused mem while running all 64gpu cores hot. I can start working on different devices here pretty soon. Let me know if there are any platforms outside of the M4 that you would like me to work on. What are the most popular setups outside of the M4?

I can’t name a specific device since I’m not an Apple user, but maybe others can chime in with which Apple computers they’re using and whether they’d be interested in trying the miner.

Personally, I’d be interested in an affordable general-purpose computer that can run it. That said, I doubt anything could realistically compete with the iPollo G1 Mini ASIC in terms of hashrate, power consumption, and price. The G1 Mini costs $399, so it would be nice to find a device with the lowest price that can compete with G1 mini.
