The reason Ardocrat didn’t want funding is so that they had the freedom to make decisions that they wanted to make. Freedom to do whatever, not beholden to community.
An official wallet can’t be something like that bc an official wallet needs to be standard and best practices only.
I was rude? I just stated my view on it. A view that nobody else shared, which means that it’s even more important that it gets said by at least someone.
Please keep in mind that we are talking about Core development here. It’s not a random community member wanting to do something cool. It’s about where to focus resources for core dev.
Yes, i believe that it was in a passive aggressive style (probably because it pissed you off). There’s nothing wrong with stating your view, it’s the right thing to do, it’s just that you can choose many ways to deliver it - some are better than the others.
I see, am not that active, so i forgot it was him who developed that wallet. If he wants freedom then yes, likely not suitable for core wallet.
Yes, that’s important, but what we should also keep in mind is that there’s only yeast left, he has been around since day 1 and we don’t want to lose him. It’s very hard to keep motivation when you’re the only developer, now imagine if people start flaming you when you try to come up with a new idea of what could be done.
Not to be pedantic but I re-read it and subsequent comments and didn’t see anything like that. I wasn’t pissed off, for what it’s worth. I’m just always thinking about:
Why users complain about Grin or stop using it and wanting to focus on improving those things
Which things we need foundationally in order to build on grin in the future (the wishlist)
Didn’t mean to flame you @Yeastplume. Just offering some pushback on core priorities is all. Some of your ideas might even be good projects for CC funding
