Why choose this name?
To some this may seem a fanciful topic but I find it intriguing, so I’ll run with the golden snitch.
As every man, woman and child in the world knows: Voldemort is the bad guy, and even though the most intriguing character in the Potter universe, a bad guy nonetheless. So why pick him?
And why the French equivalent to Tom Marvolo Riddle? Is this a red herring, or perhaps a clue as to Tom’s real-life identity?
This topic is less concerned with the second question, although I’d be happy to share speculation about who he might be - like Poelstra for example, who must surely be the hot candidate - as it is to do with why pick Voldemort?
Could have gone with Dumbledore or countless other characters. What am I saying? He could have picked any name in the world, whether in a book or not.
So why do you think the creator of Mimblewimble identified himself with the most evil wizard in Harry Potter (French translation), aka He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, and what is he communicating with that choice?
