Resetting the Community Council (CC)? -> update: new Grin Governance Council was created (GCC)

Thanks for taking the time to lead us。
as Mr.Anynomous have said,This is a victim–It takes time, not profit.
And if one day Grin Coin will become an important asset in the world, you have your credit and contribution there :waving_hand:

What are the duties and requirements of active CC member, I don’t know about encryption and computer technology, but I wonder if I can do this job.

@BOBO Thanks for offering to step up. Some major changes are being made to governance, I will post more later.
For now I want to see those changes work out well. When the time comes to step away I will keep you in mind.

Here are the requirements from the GrinCC Github, I know you can’t access that site. Perhaps I can setup backup gitlab instances for important Grin repositories that you could access.

Conditions to become a CC members
To become a CC candidate in an election, a community council member needs to meet the following three requirements: *1) A minimal trust level of 1 on the forum *2) A proven track record of mainly constructive contribution to Grin as project *3) A minimum of one year being an active community member

Endorsement by existing council members
Candidates needs endorsement/support from the majority of the existing Community Council members. In the current situation of six council members this translates to needing support from at least four council members. These requirements are in line with the Security and Funding Approval sheme which defines that any decision regarding funds and security requires 4/6 council members to approve a decision. To avoid candidates from explicitly having to ask for support, this endorsement is implemented as no-objection unless specified otherwise. Any objections must be well formulated and communicates publicly on the grin forum. Any community members can file an objection to a council member candidate. Like with every decision in Grin governance, proper argumentation needs to be provided for an objection to be considered. Simply objecting because you do not like a candidate will be dismissed. The above specified minimal requirements and the fails-safe allowing all community members to protect the CC funds.

Well, it is a very reasonable request, which maintains the inheritance of community culture and the accumulation of governance trust, so as to prevent someone from maliciously undermining community governance.
I agree with these requirements and am glad that the community governance is reasonable :waving_hand:

I’m finding it hard to stay active at all so I would like to grant @Anynomous permission to procedurally approve my removal or replacement in line with any community procedure that’s settled on to do so if that happens.

Done😁. A new council was created, the Grin Governance Council (GGC).
The new council contains old CC and OC members and new members and will manage all funds in a 4/7 Multisig.

I highly recommend you edit the OP of this thread with a warning that points to this link. It is very confusing without that link. Do the same things to your later post “Summary of the CC meeting from 20-05-2025” May 21 post. I am not suggesting you delete this thread… its just that the later post is very confusing without an “Update - This post is now outdated see here ” kind of an update.
