Base on the above linked discussion and 2 weeks experiment, it was during last CC meeting proposed to create a new Community Council with a new MultiSig which will involve 4 new key-holders.
Since we have exactly as many members as candidates, no Community Council elections will be needed.
If you want to be part of the new Community Council or have any other concerns regarding the proposed setup or new council members. Please raise these concerns in response tho this thread in a timely manner. 3 weeks from now, all objections and endorsements will be taken into consideration for the decision to move forward or not with the new CC.
Current CC key-holders, please provide your feedback on this proposal. We will need your approval and signature to transfer the funds after all. @hendi@davidtavarez@mcm-mike@Mokhtar@Neo
Summary of the CC meeting from 20-05-2025
All present agree the CC needs a reset since MultiSig holders are insufficiently active and are not responsive to messages
Proposed to create a new MultiSig with 3/6 instead of 4/6 to make it easier to make payments.
They should indicate themselves if and how they still want to be involved with the CC
To keep continuity and not burden new CC too much with administration, @Cobragrin will continue to function as CC groundkeeper
There will be no CC election since we have exactly as many new volunteers as CC members needed, but anyone can file objections against specific candidates or the proposed new CC setup.
If any of you prefer not to hold a key they can indicate so, either @mcm-mike or @Neo can hold the key for you but with a maximum of 1 key to ensure availability. The idea is that their key functions as a backup, so if they are less responsive to Signing requests, it is not a big issue since the new wallet will be 3/6. In practice it will be a 3/5 multisig with a single extra spare key held by an old CC member.
If any new CC candidates come along, I can retire as active CC member and only function as key-holder .
@Neo Thank you for all your contributions to Grin over the past years. I know life might be a bit busy right now, but I hope you will still be around when you can find the time. One problem of this project is too much out-wash of old community members. Even if just occasionally, hop on the forum.
Update: @david offered to hold one of the CC keys, @trab indicated he preferred not to hold a key. Therefore @david will do the signing for @trab and will hold one of the keys of the CC’s 3/6 multisig.
I would like to be more active here in the Grin space. I think it would be a bit presumptuous to ask to be on the multisig given my limited contributions, but similarly mentioned belowI think I could help put together a proposal for educational content.
I am an engineer in my day to day job and have put together a lot of educational materials (albeit different industry) for younger engineers and for the general public. Any former posts that I can reference for putting together a proposal and deliverables, etc. not a software engineer by trade but I do a lot of tinkering and have worked supporting projects in the crypto space in non-technical roles.
Also a home miner, although I recently sold my g1 minis that I had used for the past couple of years recently.
@Uscmigs Plans for educational material are always welcome. Lets discuss it further in a new seperate topic. You can create this topic. I have some ideas myself.
I’m lil’ miss free time, so once you have ideas for what type of educational media you want to produce, I’d be willing to help with transcription or graphic design.
