Technical breakthrough from google with quantum computer.
I watched it and have literally not seen or heared any breakthrough in that video. Not even of advances, just same old same old.
Quantum computers are X times faster, potentially can help with drug discovery in Y year…
O and China is also doing research on it. …so be afraid of China🤷♂️. Yet, Europe is most advanced in quantum computer research something they forget to mention.
At this point I am hoping for an actual breakthrough after years of news that is no news😔.

the whole quantum thing seems to be a hoax. real deal is this Graphene Computers Work 1000 Times Faster, Use Far Less Power

the breakthrough is the fact it error corrects backwards as it progresses the computing. It is a breakthrough in the time frame they initially predicted to achieve that milestone.
Now, what could this mean for Grin? transactions that are not visible to others hides the bad part
Martin Shkreli has a great take on quantum computing and I tend to agree with the notion that quantum research is overhyped and still decades away from having a viable use-case.
It is nice that they made progress with error corrections… yet they can still not factor anything bigger than 7!. I know, but they did number factored 1,099,551,473,989, right.? That is because the prime factors are : 1,048,589 × 1,048,601, which is (2^m - 1) x (2^n + 1). Using special properties like that means you are basically cheating and it has no real world implication.
