Mainnet and testnet faucets on grinminer.net

Edit: port wasn’t forwarded.

It works on cellular for me so you should be good.

I’ll give it a go. I didn’t realise how many contributions you’d made, and even tho you really upset and then ignored me in DM …

I wasn’t upset in our DM, I was just joking with you about the scammer thing (tho cryptozoidberg is one for sure), and forgot to reply that I had already canceled that slatepack you sent me. I really hope it works for you this time, I’m getting about 10 requests an hour and not seeing any errors so :crossed_fingers:

Due to the possibility of being Sybil attacked, and in the interest of keeping the faucet distribution fair and ongoing, the faucet is now rate limited by IP address as well as by wallet address. In the interest of privacy I am only storing a hash of the IP, as you can see here:

If you have claimed in the last 24 hours this reset the DB so you can get 1ツ from it again.

The mainnet faucet is popular as ever, big thanks to everyone who donated, we are about 1/5 of the way through the fund as I added a couple hundred for my monthly fill.

The faucet has been re-filled. I got busy the last few days and it slipped my mind. Still have ~1600ツ to give out.

I get a response : “Grin sent via TOR ツ” but nothing happens after 30 seconds or 30 minutes. And if I turn off TOR, then the same response “Grin sent via TOR ツ” comes, not slatepack message, but nothing happens ((

Thanks for the update, it’s not the most elegantly programmed faucet, so I will re-write it someday to not give false positives like that.

The faucet now cancels all unclaimed slatepacks at the top of every hour. I was sick of constantly having to fill up and check the wallet all the time to make sure the funds weren’t locked, this should solve that. I guesstimate 4-5 more days before the faucet fund runs out and I’ll have to reduce the reward.

I haven’t kept up with manually keeping the faucet filled so I have automated it via a bash script to fill it with 20x 10ツ UTXOs per day. It is running out of funds, so unless more donations come in I’ll start reducing the reward soon.

i will send some for donations and advertise on X again.

Sounds good! I really appreciate it. I’m gonna load another few hundred myself.

I also now have a Python script running every 15 minutes to cancel unconfirmed transactions. The faucet was running out due to unclaimed slatepacks from requests where the wallet isn’t online. It’s funny to see in the logs how many people try to finalize the send slatepack then give up :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

The faucet is now 100% functional for slatepacks. It was copying with one leading whitespace which may have been the reason so many went unclaimed as it would fail when pasting in to a wallet.

Also Cloudflare proxying was activated yesterday which was preventing requests from getting to the backend, but this has also been fixed.

My bad luck with the faucet continues! I gave it a rest for a few weeks after multiple failures (as you probably recall @transatoshi) and decided to try again tonight as a wiser and more experienced user, this time over TOR

Error: Failed to fetch

Does not fallback to slatepack either :man_shrugging:

Before you make the request, open the menu of your browser, go to more tools, and select developer options. Then choose the network tab and try making the request. Screenshot the response you get. I set up some security rules due to attacks, and maybe you’re being filtered.

I just tried requesting via LAN and through a VPN endpoint in Canada, and both worked fine for me.
