Implicit trust of peers

As I understand there is a protection from invalid data provided by peers that may attempt to cause denial of service with faulty data

It’s going to take alot more experience with the source code to understand it all

I would like to fork grin and modify it to remove this protection to grab as much of the block chain as fast as possible implying trust of all peers and their data

Would you be able to help point me in the right direction to apply my attention in order to achieve such an aim?

Why? This has no performance impact right now.

On further inspection, it maybe rocksdb that is causing the slowdown as discussed

I was of the wrong belief where we are with this, I’m still catching up.
