in grin-miner, the only difference is to choose the “right” plugin.
another option to start the miner is to invoke your start script from cron
add the following line in your user’s crontab
@reboot $HOME/startmining.sh

the grin-miner start script can look like this (i’ve used tmux instead of screen)
$ cat $HOME/startmining.sh
#!/bin/bash
tmux new-session -d -n mining
tmux send-keys -t mining “cd $HOME/grin-miner” C-m
tmux send-keys -t mining “./grin-miner” C-m

dude i don’t get this it is almost 2 am and i am loosing my mind…
i set up everything so far with all the necessary upgrades, drivers
miner is working and it shows the rtx 2080ti but status is errored
i suppose it is because the gui is not turned off

has anyone a video tutorial where i can see how to start the miner without the gui on linux 18.04 please?

II’m afraid there is no such kind of video. The steps I described in my previous message are easy to repeat, please try it.
Open a terminal in your Ubuntu, perform a ‘sudo systemctl set-default multi-user.target’ command and reboot. All you need after that (but you can do it in advance) is to configure your .toml file. Here is my example:

[https://pastebin.com/VD0gD0qw](https://pastebin.com/VD0gD0qw)

Pay attention to lines 43 and below (mining pool configuration) and 176 and below (mining device(s) configuration).

CPU mining part (lines 79-82) should be commented with #.

Is the cuda PATH also set? When you reboot the machine open terminal and check “nvcc -V” works. If not then your CUDA PATH is not set.

miner ran well for 2 days now this happens when i start after 5 minutes or so

is this happening maybe because nvidia-smi shows less then 11Gb ram?

what i do not understand is that i get different number in windows 10 and ubuntu 18.04 on the gpu ram size.

windows 10 dedicated ram shows: 12288MiB
linux ubuntu 18.04 nvidia-smi shows: 10986MiB

is there a way to increase the ram in ubuntu to match the windows 10 ram size?

Hi guys,
I’m getting the strange figure of 3 GPS (C31) from an NVIDIA P6000 (has 24GB ram), but no shares submitted, and if I try to run 2 instances of the CUDA plugin, it says ‘out of memory’, but if try openCL it runs (slowly, but does run).
Any ideas?

What does output look like if you run

```
 make cuda31.1
./cuda31.1 -r 4
```

i don’t have access to it anymore, i was using a VPS, and they blocked me because i shouldn’t be using it to mine cryptos anyway…

but i’ll try to grab the hold of another card with 24 or 32GB ram… that’s what i’m aiming for now!
