# Noob 0 workers, wallet initialization skipped

We have miner running on ubuntu, server status is running, everything looks good except the number of workers is 0, in the config it was set to 4. As a side note in case having wallet initialization is required, we could never get wallet initialization to run for grin wallet so we are using grin++, we’re assuming wallet intialization step of setup is only needed is running grin wallet? but wondering if is a required step to have wallet initalized under grin? Any suggestions on what to check to get workers running?

There some mention of this being a known issue on some installs, if all else looks good and no workers are shown in gui, then are we mining successfully?
