I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to be dismissive. I appreciate your work, and I assume you would continue it in some capacity even if unfunded.
I understand the difficulties of funding and hiring in open source projects very keenly. I have been involved with Monero for ten years and seen some good and very important work as well as some fiascos come out of their community crowdfunding system. I have seen contributors get burned out due to voracious harassment or perceived harassment from the community, as well as the difficulties in seeking funding every 3 months or so and documenting everything and proving yourself everytime. I don’t mean to single you out, but…you’re the only one around these here parts partner 😛
Anyway, I really do appreciate your work and I really do understand the difficulties and troubles of this sort of thing. I am also a part of the [magicgrants.org](http://magicgrants.org) non-profit, where we do some fundraising activities for development work and education for privacy and cryptocurrency projects.

Thank you, I really appreciate that, and yes, you’re touching on a lot of very familiar points. I like to think we’ve done a relatively good job avoiding total fiascos so far, but I believe ‘community-induced burnout’, for lack of a better term, is a large contributing factor to why many of our long-time contributors are no longer around. I don’t like fighting people on the internet, nor do most of the other developers I’ve worked with on the project over the years, but we still haven’t figured out a way to reconcile this with the need for transparency.
Anyhow, I’ll put more thoughts out about this and many other things later, but I appreciate your response.
